Making friends.

Introduction

陌生人依開始問 what's your name 很怪, 通常:

Hi How are you doing ?

My name is Park.

What is your name?

回答:

Hello, I'm John.

或是:

My name is John.

或是:

Nice to meet you, I'm John.

如果周圍環境很吵, 或是音樂很大聲之類聽不清楚對方的名字, 那我們可以重新問對方的名字:

I'm sorry, I didn't catch/get your name.

對方可能就會回答~

Oh I'm sorry, my name is John.

如果有帶朋友, 也要確認介紹朋友給對方認識:

Please meet my friend Natasha.

或是:

I would like you to meet my friend Natasha.

Where are you from ?

講的時候, are可以很小聲, 聽起來就像where you from

可以回答:

I'm from Italy.

有可能我出生的地方跟我目前住的地方不一樣, 可以這樣說:

I'm originally from Spain, now settled in America.

What do you do?

或是問說:

What do you do for a living?

你是以什麼為生。

回答說:

I'm a graphic designer.

I'm a teacher.

How old are you?

可以回答:

I'm 22 years old

或簡短的說:

I'm 22.

My age is 22.

不想明講年紀的話, 可以說:

I'm in my early twenties.

I'm in my late twenties.

有人會明問生日:

When is your birthday?

可以回答:

It's on 7th Feb.

不需要特地講像是I was born...我什麼時候出生之類, 除非是特殊日子,例如:

I was born on the New Year's eve.

Ending a Conversation

It's a pleasure talking to you!

It was great speaking to you.

或是:

We would touch base later.

touch base源自於棒球術語, 講說跑者必須跑到一個壘包,才能往下一個壘包前進, 引申為聯絡某人(做某事)

或是要聯絡資料:

How can I contact you?

或是:

May I have your number/ email / facebook id / skype id ?

不用特地強調telephone number, 因為幾乎每個人都有手機了, 只要問有無number就可。

聊天內容

什麼都聊, 天氣, 城市, 聊派對上的食物... :P
